The Importance of Regular Chiropractic Adjustments To Have Balance in YOUR Life

Rachael Beverage and her husband are running a chiropractic center but basically she is a one-man show. She likes to see people who want to make their health better rather than just get out of pain. Other than that she likes to see anyone that needs chiropractic adjustments.

What is a referred pain?

Pain doesn’t really seem to originate from an injury.

One example of Referred pain is pain that you can get in your right shoulder. Sometimes people who have gallbladder problems will experience some fairly intense pain under the right scapula area. Even though they might think they have pain there, they could actually be having gallbladder problems.

Another referred pain, one that women need to be aware of, is the pain in the mid-back. Sometimes it’s just pain but it’s also a big spot where women tend to have pain when having a heart attack.

Choosing a Better Lifestyle

As Americans, eating better is definitely something we need to do and eating less would be better for us.

Sleep is also very important for better health. Often getting as much as 7 to 9 hours of sleep is beneficial during the healing process. Our body does a lot of healing when we rest at night.

Dr Rachael feels Chiropractic care is also essential to everybody’s lifestyle.

The Nerve Functions

There are 3 types of nerves that go through the spinal cord and the spinal cord is what gets signals to the brain.

Sensory nerves are the only ones that elicit pain.  So there could actually be something going on in the body with the other nerves and you might not realize it.

The Motor nerve controls the muscles. That one might manifest as a tight muscle or too loose of a muscle or even just fatigue. It might also mean that the body is not using energy like it should – for example it may be trying to hold your muscles in a certain position and that stresses the body for sure.

The 3rd type is the Autonomic nerves and it controls everything you don’t have to think about. For example – Organs, glands, digestion, heart, lungs – those sorts of things.

It the Autonomic Nerve is impinged upon it can effect infections things like ear infections. Digestive – things like heartburn. Even the lungs and things like allergies.

Getting consistent chiropractic care – Chiropractic adjustments help to take the stress off your body so you function at your optimal ability.

The Importance of Adjustment

Dr. Rachael said that when you start getting adjusted, it’s almost like peeling back layers. Once one problem is figured out, then we peel back another layer and eventually get to an optimal functioning healthy person.

Dr Rachael does manual adjustments with her hands she also utilizes an activator to help with adjustments.

Dr. Rachael on Improving Ourselves

I will recommend people to people that they go and see their chiropractor to help them keep functioning optimally. If you started a New Years resolution but have already given up on it Dr Rachael says: I would highly encourage you to dust yourself off and get back up on the wagon because doing something is better than doing nothing. I would discourage you from letting those mistakes keep you from getting healthy. Get back into good eating habits like eating vegetables and increasing the amount of exercise you get each day.

What advice would you give yourself five years ago so our listeners could learn from you about starting out in business?

I would probably have told myself to start going to those different business modules that my school offered while I was getting my degree. At the time I had no idea that I was going to be opening my business up so close to when I had actually graduated from college. During Chiropractic school I just thought – oh, I don’t need to take those business classes yet, I’ll just learn that after I graduate. I wish that I had!

The other advice would be to just jump into the business. It is not that hard and you can for sure do it. It has been exciting to do, and for sure it is definitely do-able. Having more business knowledge would have given me more confidence. It is going to be stressful starting your own business but definitely worth it.

Get as much advice as possible and find a mentor. A Score mentor was the best first step I ever could have taken. The Score advisor met with me and we created a plan. He had great advice. He was super helpful and I was very thankful that he was willing to meet up with me and helped me through that process.

Dr Rachael tells her story…

It’s not as dramatic as some people’s stories are but basically when I was in high school and the first year of my undergraduate, I wanted to be a music teacher. I wanted to teach music, I wanted to be in music all the time. The first course I took, I did not like it at all. I ended up dropping it as soon as I could and I started looking through the business catalog, the catalog of majors that my undergrad had. When I was flipping through it, I had noticed that they had a chiropractic degree. It made me think back to the first time that I had ever gone to a chiropractor, I remember how I was immediately out of pain when he adjusted my neck and I just remember feeling so good after a chiropractic adjustment and I thought to myself, you know, I think that would be a great thing to try. I switched my major went through chiropractic college and here I am.

Words of Wisdom to listeners

Something that I’ve had to learn is that to just not be afraid of failure. There was a quote that I had heard that went something like this: failure leads to experience. So I view failure as somewhat of a positive than negative because that means I learned something. It gives me an opportunity to change my perspective or change how I am doing things. Failure can often be a stepping stone to success often. Some of us just learn better by the school of hard knocks.
