Today I listened to a podcast episode where Dr Mark Hyman was interviewing another Dr that has been doing a lot of research and work in Anti-Aging research. It seems to be all the rage these days in the wealthy, ultra-healthy folks.
I must say not to poke fun at this class of people – but it is intriguing and something we could all do better to learn something about it.
Some of the things I learned is that stress, lack of sleep and the junk foods we put in our bodies have a lot to do with aging us. That all makes sense and is something we should really work at doing better. But there was one other thing that struck me as interesting.
Did you know that building muscle helps you with Anti-Aging? I knew we are made to work “by the sweat of our brow” but I didn’t know hard work and exercise would actually keep us young longer. You know I’ve heard, and witnessed, people that have worked hard all their life. Retire to sit in a chair the biggest part of the day often die in just a few short years. Maybe this is part of the why.
